B. You should modify your goals and push harder.
Salespeople often miss their best opportunity for high achievement by hitting a mark and then
slowing down. Huge mistake! Huge loss of momentum! In sales, asking for a raise is silly; you
give yourself a raise by earning more commissions. Bragging to your friends is even sillier than
asking for a raise because your friends don't care about you; like your customers, they care
about themselves. But by far the most foolish thing you can do is to stop working hard and
resting on your past achievements. This will give your competition the ability to steal your
momentum. The achievement of an annual sales goal is a wonderful thing, but not as wonderful as
the early achievement of that goal and the opportunity to soar even higher.
